Sustainability of Green Sciences and Technologies
SGST · Published by Al Qasim Green University
An interdisciplinary scholarly journal dedicated to research that advances sustainable science, green technologies, environmental protection, resource efficiency, circular economy, clean energy, sustainable processes, and low-carbon development.
SGST is being established by Al Qasim Green University as a peer-reviewed home for work that contributes demonstrably to sustainability. Use the navigation to review the journal’s aims and scope, editorial governance, guide for authors, and full publication policies before submitting your manuscript.

What the journal publishes
Full statement on the Aims and scope page
The journal welcomes fundamental, applied, computational, experimental, modelling, systems, policy-relevant and interdisciplinary studies. Preference is given to work offering scientific novelty, methodological rigour, measurable environmental or sustainability benefit, or a meaningful technological pathway toward sustainable development.
Green chemistry and engineering
Sustainable chemistry and safer chemical processes; green engineering, sustainable process design and process intensification; resource-efficient manufacturing and cleaner technologies.
Clean energy systems
Renewable and clean energy, conversion, storage, efficiency and integration; hydrogen, bioenergy, biogas, biomass, biofuels and carbon-neutral energy systems.
Carbon and climate
Carbon capture, utilisation and storage; carbon management and decarbonisation; climate mitigation, adaptation, resilience and environmental sustainability.
Environment and water
Environmental remediation, wastewater treatment, air pollution control and waste management; water sustainability, desalination, water reuse and resource recovery.
Circular economy and materials
Industrial ecology, life-cycle assessment and material flow analysis; green materials, nanomaterials, sustainable polymers, catalysts, adsorbents and functional materials.
Systems, data and policy
Artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimisation and simulation applied to sustainability; techno-economic and environmental assessment; sustainable buildings, cities and mobility; environmental policy and governance.
How a manuscript moves through SGST
Full workflow on the Peer review page
-
Submission
Manuscripts are submitted through the journal’s designated electronic submission system or, during the interim launch phase, through the official editorial office.
-
Technical and scope screening
Every submission is checked for fit with the aims and scope, format and file specifications, complete author and affiliation information, declarations, and an initial similarity assessment.
-
Editor assignment and reviewer invitation
An editor is assigned, reviewers are invited, and conflict-of-interest checks are carried out before any review begins.
-
Double-anonymised peer review
Normally two independent reviewers assess the manuscript; further reviewers may be invited where necessary. Reviewers do not normally know the identity of authors, and authors do not know the identity of reviewers.
-
Editorial assessment and decision
The editor assesses the reports and issues a documented decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, reject, or another documented category. Revision and further review follow where required.
-
Production and publication
Copyediting, proofing and metadata verification precede publication. Post-publication monitoring and correction continue afterwards where necessary.
What SGST commits to
Drawn from the journal’s approved policy framework
Decisions on merit alone
Decisions rest on scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigour, relevance, ethical compliance and fit with scope — never on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, political views, institutional affiliation, commercial interest, or ability to pay.
Editorial independence
The owner and sponsor do not interfere in editorial decisions. The Editor-in-Chief holds authority over scientific content, subject to documented journal governance.
No claims before confirmation
The journal will never claim indexing, impact factors, rankings or memberships before they are officially confirmed. Any metric shown here will be accurately named, sourced and dated.
An honest published record
Corrections, retractions and expressions of concern are linked to the original article, clearly identified, dated and explained. The record is never silently altered.
Establishment status
SGST is in its establishment phase. This site states plainly what has been settled and what has not, rather than implying arrangements that are not yet in place.
The publisher is completing the steps required before the first issue: appointing the Editor-in-Chief and establishing editorial governance, lodging the ISSN and eISSN application, commissioning the submission workflow, approving the author, peer-review, ethics, copyright, licensing and AI policies, and establishing archiving and DOI metadata workflows.
Indexing will be pursued only after a stable publication record, regular publication, a qualified editorial board, functioning peer review, ethical policies and persistent metadata are all in place. Inclusion in any service is never guaranteed and depends on that service’s current criteria.
Scholars interested in joining the editorial board or the reviewer panel are invited to write to the editorial office. International representation is sought alongside appropriate subject expertise.
